Juanita is a native of Louisiana, from a small town west of New Orleans. She attended Xavier University in New Orleans where she majored in Medical Technology and Chemistry. Juanita later escaped the hospital environment via Delta Airlines where she had an opportunity to pursue international travel. During her travels, she toured many European gardens and attended the World Horticultural Exhibition in Holland.
Since early childhood, Juanita has always been fascinated with gardening, especially seed germination. She obtained a Horticulture degree from Richland College and decided to pursue her passion by growing cut flowers for the local floral industry. It was a fun and exciting venture, albeit short-lived. The Texas heat, drought and grasshoppers were worthy opponents. Juanita spent the last few years in corporate America before returning to her passion. She feels that she has finally gotten to the place where she is supposed to be.
