As a Texas native, David grew up in Dallas and has been around the industry his entire life. During his youth, David worked for his dad’s turf distribution business, Chemical & Turf Specialty Company. During his high school and college summers, David worked for Columbian CC and Royal Oaks CC as a member of the course maintenance crew.
David graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Turf Management. He was also commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army National Guard. Besides maintaining a pesticide applicator’s license through the TDA, David also maintains Life, Health, Property and Casualty insurance agent’s licensing. Most recently in 2010, David also gained certification as a Professional Turfgrass Manager. In his free time, David likes to spend time with his wife and two daughters. David also enjoys photography, fishing, and country and western dancing.
