New Orleans Inspired Courtyard Garden

With a site located on a highly-traveled residential corner, the clients requested the development of a New Orleans-style series of courtyard gardens. The landscape architect was an integral part of the design team and specifically located the buildings. Working on this very flat site, we creatively raised the residence 2½ feet above existing grade to create a sense of intimacy within the various garden rooms. Recognizing the clients’ desire to emulate the styles of architect Hayes Town, the landscape architect integrated the inherent spatial relationship between the interior vistas and multiple courtyard rooms.
