Contemporary Tuscan Garden

Responding to the owners' request to develop a series of courtyard garden areas highly visible from most rooms of the house and a landscape design that reflected the warmth of the home’s contemporary Tuscan architectural style, the house was situated approximately 2½ feet above existing grade to create a sense of separation from the streets and an intimacy for all the courtyard gardens. Multiple steps and landing arrangements combined with raised planter and bench walls provided more visible green planting vistas and much needed relief to the tight spaces of the pool courtyard. The seat walls also provided additional seating for the heavily used entertainment areas.
